"Reverse" Christmas Parade
The Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a "reverse" parade on Saturday, December 12 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. along Lafayette Drive.
What is a "Reverse" Parade?
It's a parade where the floats are stationary and attendees will drive the parade route to view the fun (think the Shadrack Light Show at the Smokies Stadium or a Drive-through Nativity scene).
Where will this take place?
Parade floats will line the northbound lane of Lafayette Road (the one that travels toward the Turnpike) and spectators will drive down the southbound lane (the one that travels toward Illinois Avenue) to enjoy the creativity from the safety and comfort of their own vehicle.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, entries are not be permitted to hand out candy or other items. However, the Chamber of Commerce is taking donations of those items to assemble into goodie bags which will be presented to spectators as they exit the "reverse" parade route.
