She is also a Mortgage Loane Originator and has her Series 6 and 63 License. She and her husband Tony of nearly 35 years have an amazing son Tony and a beautiful daughter-in-law Ashiah.

Bruce Borchers

Dr. Bruce Borchers started his education career as an elementary physical education teacher in the Sioux City, Iowa, Community School District. He also has worked as an interim assistant principal and guidance counselor in Iowa City, Iowa, as assistant principal and principal in Mankato, Minnesota, and as associate superintendent of secondary schools for the Anoka-Hennepin, Minnesota, School District. Prior to joining the Oak Ridge Schools, Dr. Borchers was the Superintendent of the Rockwood School District from 2010 to 2013.
Dr. Borchers earned a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, and master’s degrees from Wayne State College and the University of South Dakota.

Chris Whaley

Dr. Whaley began his college education at Roane State. He earned Roane State’s highest student award, continued his education at Middle Tennessee State University and earned his law degree from the University of Tennessee.
After three years in private practice as an attorney, Dr. Whaley returned to the college in 1997 as program director of the A.A.S. Paralegal Studies program, a position he held until 2010. Since then he has served in positions of successively greater administrative responsibility at the college. He was named dean of social science, business and education in 2002, and in 2010 was promoted to vice president of student learning/chief academic officer. Dr. Whaley became Roane State’s fifth president on November 1, 2012.
James Wood

Jim Wood joined Y-12 FCU in 2020 as the Chief Lending Officer, bringing over 30 years of CU leadership to their team. Jim has worked in the Tampa, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, and Chicago markets but is excited to return to his East Tennessee roots as he was a graduate of Milligan College out of Johnson City, TN. He is an avid golfer and fan of about any sport. He has relocated to Oak Ridge and is “all in” on the East Tennessee experience…having already completed the bucket list for hiking, zip lining, white-water rafting, and kayaking in his first month. Jim explained he’s glad to be back in the Smokies and is looking forward to serving the Y-12 membership and the communities they serve.
