Who it's for: Individuals wishing to pursue a career as a Phlebotomist
Due to COVID-19 precautions we are continuing to serve our students in an hybrid format. Please sign up for a selected day and time. This day and time will be your day to be present for the skills and lab time requirements. You will come to the campus to complete your skills the full nine weeks of the nine-week course. You must complete 40 successful live sticks. You will be practicing your skills on your classmates. You will be responsible for reviewing the online content starting the first week. You will be able to login each week to review the online course content at your own discretion. Please be advised that you must present to the campus on the day and time that you sign up for. Please click on the "Precourse Requirements" so that you will know what you need to have on the first day of your skills. You must also wear a face mask and complete a health screening each day you attend class. Your login information will be given to you on your first day of class.
What you'll learn: A career in Phlebotomy is a highly respected and important medical career. Phlebotomists, who specialize in drawing blood, work in variety of healthcare settings including hospitals, clinics, medical group practices, laboratories and other public health offices. This 48 hour program will make you a crucial part of the medical team with the skills necessary to obtain quality laboratory specimens in a variety of medical settings. As you complete this course you will gain the technical knowledge and skills required to assist you in passing the certification exam.
Notes: The tuition for this course DOES NOT include the cost of the NHA certification examination. That fee (approximately $105.00) is paid to the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), not to Roane State. Information on requirements for the course can be found at the link below. |
