The Leadership Oak Ridge Story

Leadership Oak Ridge celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2008, making it one of the longest continuously running community leadership programs in the United States. For the almost 1,000 graduates of the program, their Leadership Oak Ridge experience continues to make a difference in their personal and business lives. Most importantly, their experience continues to impact the Oak Ridge community.

With the retirement of the long-time executive director came challenges for the Leadership Oak Ridge Board of Directors. A transition team was appointed and after nearly a year of investigating numerous opportunities, the Leadership Oak Ridge Board chose to affiliate the program with the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce, ironically one of the founding partners of the program 25 years prior.
