Program of Work Kickoff to be Held January 26
The Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Program of Work Kickoff breakfast on Tuesday, January 26 from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. at the Doubletree Hotel, 215 South Illinois Avenue. All Chamber members are invited. Cost is $25 per person with a discount for Millennium Partners. The theme for this year's kickoff is "The Future Looks Bright!"
At the breakfast, the Chamber's 2010 Program of Work will be presented to the membership. A panel of community leaders will brief the membership on where their organizations are going in 2010 and offer Chamber members some insight into how their future will impact the Oak Ridge business community. The panel includes:
- Gerald Boyd, Manager of the U.S. Department of Energy's Oak Ridge Office
- Ted Sherry, Manager of the National Nuclear Security Administration's Y-12 Site Office
- Thom Mason, Director of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory
- Darrel Kohlhorst, President and General Manager of the Y-12 National Security Complex
- Tom Beehan, Mayor of Oak Ridge
Chuck Hope, owner of Chuck's Car Care and Chairman of the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors said, "I firmly believe that things are looking up in this community. There are a lot of good and exciting things happening here. This event is a great way for us to celebrate the good things going on here and to allow Chamber members the opportunity to learn how these things will impact their businesses."
Parker Hardy, President of the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce said, "We hope all our members will make every effort to attend our Program of Work Kickoff. We always look forward to sharing our plans for the year with our membership at this annual event. This year is no exception. We have the leadership in place to help us accomplish our goals for the year and at this breakfast we will be offering our members the opportunity to get involved and help us make these goals a reality."
