Oak Ridge Chamber to Host Coffee With the Candidates
The Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce's Pro-Growth Advocacy Task Force is sponsoring a series of morning meetings with candidates for several local offices. The first Coffee With the Candidates session will be held on Tuesday, June 12 from 7:30-9:00 a.m. in the Joyce Conference Room at the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce. Candidates for Anderson County Property Assessor and Anderson County Commission District 8 have been invited to attend.
According to Melinda Hillman, Roane State Community College Vice President of the Oak Ridge Campus and chair of the Chamber's Pro-Growth Advocacy Task Force said, "We wanted to provide a casual environment for people to meet the candidates one on one and then to allow time for more a more formal question and answer session. These coffees will give voters the chance to meet with those running for local office and to allow them to make an informed decision when they go to the polls later this summer."
The coffee schedule is as follows:
- June 12 - Candidates for Anderson County Property Assessor and Anderson County Commission District 8
- June 19 - Candidates for the Oak Ridge City Council Special Election
- June 26 - Candidates for Anderson County Mayor
People may submit questions for the candidates in advance of the coffees by contacting Greta Ownby at the Chamber at 483-1321 or email@example.com.
